  1. Started the carrier in Shipping as a Cadet Officer in the Merchant Navy in 1981 at the age of 20. Currently serves as the Associate Dean-Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, CINEC Maritime Campus.
  2. Represent Sri Lanka on invitation by the Australian Government- Department of Education and Training- in the Indian Ocean Rim Association−(IORA)
  3. Started the carrier in Shipping as a Cadet Officer in the Merchant Navy in 1981 at the age of 20. Thereafter, worked 7 years for the Sri Lankan government in the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka- BOI as an Authorized officer substituting department of Customs for Free Trade Zone investments
  4. Worked 21 years for 3 container shipping lines namely, Mitsui OSK Lines, Japan (MOL); Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) as the SL agent and Marketing Manager for 11 years.  United Arab Shipping Company- Dubai (UASC) as the General Manager in Sri Lanka for 10 years
